The commission shall consider grant proposals submitted in the following categories:

1. Basic and applied research.

2. Marketing and utilization.

3. Nature-based agritourism.

4. Technical assistance for value-added businesses.

5. Farm diversification.

6. Agricultural prototype development.

7. Agricultural technologies.

8. Other agricultural-based initiatives as directed by the legislature.
