The state geologist or the state geologist's representative shall have access to all drilling or exploration installations regulated under this chapter for the purpose of inspection and sampling. The state geologist may require the aid of the permit holder if the state geologist finds such aid necessary, and if the state geologist requests such aid.

If samples are to be collected by the state geologist, details relating to the starting date of the collection of such samples and the drill site locations shall be worked out between the state geologist or the state geologist's agents and the permit holder or the permit holder's agents prior to the starting date of such collection.
