Unless an exception in Rule .0204 of this Section applies, a notary public shall terminate a notarial transaction if:

1. (1) the platform indicates that the principal has a GPS-enabled device capable of geolocation that:

   1. (a) has the GPS location feature disabled; and
   2. (b) the principal declines to enable the GPS-location feature of the device; or
2. (2) the principal is not in a permitted location pursuant to G.S. 10B-134.1(10).
