The classifications assigned to the groundwaters located within the boundaries or under the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the State of North Carolina are:

1. (1) Class GA Waters. Those groundwaters in the state naturally containing 250 mg/l or less of chloride are classified GA.
2. (2) Class GSA Waters. Those groundwaters in the state naturally containing greater than 250 mg/l chloride are classified GSA.
3. (3) Class GC Waters. Those groundwaters assigned the classification GC in Rules .0303 ‑ .0318 of this Section.
