In addition to conducting Annual Firearms Qualification, as prescribed in 12 NCAC 10B .2104, Specialized Firearms Instructors shall provide instruction on the following specified topics:

1. (1) Use of Force: the authority to use deadly force including relevant case law and materials.

2. (2) Safety:

   1. (a) Range rules and regulations;
   2. (b) Handling of a firearm; and
   3. (c) Malfunctions.

3. (3) Review of Basic Marksmanship Fundamentals:

   1. (a) Grip, stance, breath control, trigger press, and trigger reset;
   2. (b) Sight alignment and sight picture; and
   3. (c) Nomenclature.
4. (4) Operation and Maintenance of all agency-authorized weapons.
