A developmental day service is a day/night service which provides individual habilitative programming for children with, or at risk for developmental delay, developmental disabilities or atypical development in specialized licensed child care centers. The service:

1. (1) is designed to meet developmental needs of the children such as self‑help, physical, language and speech, and cognitive and psychosocial skills in order to facilitate their functioning in a less restrictive environment, as well as to meet child care needs of families; and
2. (2) offers family training and support.
