In addition to the requirements in Rule .1211(a)(1) of this Subchapter, an adult care home shall ensure the following:

1. (1) orientation to medication policies and procedures for staff responsible for medication administration prior to their administering or supervising the administration of medications; and

2. (2) compliance of medication policies and procedures with requirements of this Section and all applicable state and federal regulations, including definitions in the North Carolina Pharmacy Practice Act, G.S. 90-85.3.

   For the purposes of this Subchapter, medications include herbal and non-herbal supplements.
