As used in this part, the following definitions apply:
- (1) "Council" means the palliative care and quality of life interdisciplinary advisory council provided for in 50-12-203.
- (2) "Department" means the department of public health and human services provided for in 2-15-2201.
- (3) "Palliative care" means patient-centered and family-centered medical care that optimizes quality of life by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering caused by serious illness.
- (4) "Program" means the palliative care consumer and professional information and education program provided for in 50-12-205.
