(1) An employer may not discharge, discipline, or refuse to hire a person because:
- (a) the person has a child support obligation;
- (b) a withholding order has been issued for the person's income; or
- (c) proceedings have been initiated under this part.
- (2) An employer who violates the provisions of this section may be fined not more than $100.
