Mont. Code Ann. § 25-13-709
When the purchaser of any personal property not capable of manual delivery pays the purchase price, the officer making the sale shall execute and deliver to the purchaser a certificate of sale. The certificate conveys to the purchaser all rights that the debtor had in the property on the day the execution or attachment was levied.
