1. (1) The board of regents shall appoint the director of the fire services training school.
2. (2) The director may be removed for cause.

3. (3) The director must have the following qualifications:

   1. (a) a bachelor's degree in a field of study related to fire protection; or
   2. (b) 5 years' experience in an organized training program as an instructor and 7 years' experience as a firefighter or fire combat officer.
