If a hospital provides respiratory therapy, the hospital shall comply with the following requirements:

1. (1) Respiratory therapy services must be under the supervision of a licensed physician appointed from the active medical staff.
2. (2) An internal and external quality control program must be provided for all parameters of acid-base testing.
3. (3) Written policies and procedures must be developed describing the control measures to be followed in order to eliminate the transfer of infection from the use of respiratory equipment.
