1. (1) An application for a building permit shall include building plans and specifications drawn to scale.
2. (2) The building plans shall clearly indicate the location, nature, and extent of work proposed, and the building plans shall show conformity with the State Building Code.

3. (3) The building plans shall include:

   1. (a) a site plan locating the proposed building on the property;
   2. (b) a dimensioned floor plan;
   3. (c) identification of the use of each room or area;
   4. (d) a dimensioned typical section through the structure showing footings, foundations, walls, floors, ceilings and roof materials, and details;
   5. (e) material specifications as appropriate; and
   6. (f) all building insulation R-values, and description of heating and ventilation equipment and combustion air provisions and equipment capacity.
4. (4) The department may request the seal and certification of a licensed Montana engineer for the roof trusses used, and for footing/foundations designs that are not in compliance with the International Building Code, such as a slab on grade.
