1. (1) The content areas covered by the social studies standards include:

   1. (a) civics and government;
   2. (b) economics;
   3. (c) geography; and
   4. (d) history.

2. (2) When a district incorporates or integrates social studies content into district curriculum or offers a course in social studies, the following skills at each grade level may apply:

   1. (a) develop questions;
   2. (b) plan inquiries;
   3. (c) compare and evaluate sources for relevance, perspective, and accuracy;
   4. (d) use sources to gather evidence to develop and refine claims;
   5. (e) communicate conclusions; and
   6. (f) take informed action.
