1. (1) The media arts content standards for kindergarten are that each student will:

   1. (a) explore ideas for media artworks using play and experimentation;
   2. (b) explore ideas to form models for media arts productions;
   3. (c) combine arts and media content to form media artworks;
   4. (d) choose varied art forms and other content in media artwork;
   5. (e) identify skills and roles used to create media arts presentations;
   6. (f) share reactions to the presentation of media artworks;
   7. (g) recognize messages in media artworks;
   8. (h) identify a variety of media artworks;
   9. (i) identify qualities and possible changes in media artworks;
   10. (j) use personal experiences and choices in making media artworks; and
   11. (k) share ideas relating media artworks to everyday life.

2. (2) The visual arts content standards for kindergarten are that each student will:

   1. (a) engage in creative play with art materials;
   2. (b) create artworks or designs that represent natural and constructed objects;
   3. (c) explain the artistic process while making artworks;
   4. (d) choose art objects for a personal portfolio and display;
   5. (e) explain the purpose of a portfolio or collection;
   6. (f) explain the purpose of an art museum;
   7. (g) identify uses of artwork within one's personal environment;
   8. (h) identify subject matter and details in artworks;
   9. (i) explain reasons for selecting a preferred artwork;
   10. (j) create art that tells a story about a personal experience; and
   11. (k) identify a purpose of an artwork.

3. (3) The theatre arts content standards for kindergarten are that each student will:

   1. (a) identify ways in which movement may be used to create or retell a story;
   2. (b) express original ideas in guided creative drama;
   3. (c) identify plot details in guided creative drama;
   4. (d) use facial expressions to communicate character and emotions in guided creative drama;
   5. (e) identify various design elements in guided creative drama;
   6. (f) use voice and sound in guided creative drama;
   7. (g) describe a response to characters in guided creative drama;
   8. (h) describe a setting in creative drama;
   9. (i) identify design elements in guided creative drama;
   10. (j) identify similarities between characters and oneself in guided creative drama; and
   11. (k) identify similarities and differences in stories from multiple cultures.

4. (4) The music content standards for kindergarten are that each student will:

   1. (a) explore and experience musical concepts;
   2. (b) demonstrate a musical idea;
   3. (c) identify changes in musical ideas;
   4. (d) identify expressive qualities in musical selections;
   5. (e) rehearse to improve performances;
   6. (f) perform music with expression;
   7. (g) discuss preferences in musical selections;
   8. (h) discuss expressive qualities of music;
   9. (i) identify preferences in evaluating music;
   10. (j) identify emotions when experiencing music; and
   11. (k) identify connections between music, arts, and daily life in a variety of contexts.

5. (5) The dance content standards for kindergarten are that each student will:

   1. (a) respond in movement to a variety of sounds;
   2. (b) explore dances with beginning, middle, and end;
   3. (c) use improvised movement to change dance sequences;
   4. (d) explore different movement qualities;
   5. (e) coordinate dance movements with other dancers;
   6. (f) identify production elements of a dance for and with others;
   7. (g) identify a movement that repeats in a dance;
   8. (h) observe movement and describe it;
   9. (i) identify criteria to describe movement in dance;
   10. (j) identify an emotion expressed in a dance; and
   11. (k) replicate movement in dances.
