NOTE: The repeal of Section 141 of the Constitution was proposed by Chapter 2021, Laws of 2020 (House Concurrent Resolution No 47), and upon ratification by the electorate on November 3, 2020, was deleted from the Constitution by proclamation of the Secretary of State on March 29, 2021.

Former § 141 required the House of Representatives to choose a governor from the two candidates who received the highest number of popular votes in the absence of electoral and popular vote majorities.
