MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

1.1.1Mississippi Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Law of 1974, the Governor with 1.1.2boiler and pressure vessel regulations governing the construction of boilers and 1.1.3safeguarding life, limb and property by specifying minimum standards for the 1.1.4to limit in any way the builder's right to choose any method of design or form of 1.1.5Regarding special designs which are not covered by the codes or standards, their 1.1.6reinstallation of a boiler or pressure vessel referred to in subsections (1) and (2)1.1.7Any person who feels that these rules and regulations or interpretations of them 1.2.1unnecessary inconvenience:1.3.1Source 1.3.2ASME Code means the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code of the American Society 1.3.3Alteration means a change in a boiler or pressure vessel that substantially alters 1.3.4Approved means approved by the Board 1.3.5Authorized Inspection Agency means one of the following:1.3.6Advisory Committee means Technical Advisory Committee of Boiler and 1.3.7Board means the Mississippi State Department of Health 1.3.8Bureau means the Bureau of Environmental Health 1.3.9Boiler means a closed vessel in which water is heated, steam is generated, steam 1.3.10Power Boiler means a boiler in which steam or other vapor is generated at a 1.3.11High Pressure, High Temperature Water Boiler means a water boiler operating at 1.3.12Miniature Boiler means any boiler which does not exceed any of the following 1.3.13Heating Boiler means a steam boiler operated at pressures not exceeding 15 psig,1.3.14Hot Water Supply Boiler means a boiler (including fired storage water heater):1.3.15Electric Boiler means a boiler in which the source of heat is electricity 1.3.16Portable Boiler means an internally fired boiler which is primarily intended for 1.3.17Certificate of Competency means a certificate issued to a person who has passed 1.3.18Certificate Inspection means an inspection, the report of which is used by the 1.3.19Commission, National Board means the commission issued by the National Board 1.3.20Division means the Bureau of Environmental Health 1.3.21Department means the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Branch of the 1.3.22Condemned Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel that has 1.3.23Existing Installation means and includes any boiler or pressure vessel constructed,1.3.24operation of a boiler or pressure vessel as required in the Act 1.3.25Inspector 1.3.26License means the boiler and pressure vessel inspector's license issued to 1.3.27Mississippi Special Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel 1.3.28Mississippi Standard Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel 1.3.29National Board means the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel 1.3.30National Board Inspection Code means the Manual for Boiler and Pressure Vessel 1.3.31New Boiler or Pressure Vessel Installation means and includes all boilers or 1.3.32Nonstandard Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel that does 1.3.33Owner or User means any person, firm or corporation legally responsible for the 1.3.34Pressure Vessel means a vessel in which the pressure is obtained from an external 1.3.35PSIG means pounds per square inch gauge 1.3.36Reinstalled Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel removed 1.3.37Repair means work necessary to return a boiler or pressure vessel to a safe and 1.3.38Major Repair means a repair upon which the strength of a boiler or pressure 1.3.39Secondhand Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel which as 1.3.40Standard Boiler or Pressure Vessel means a boiler or pressure vessel which bears 1.3.41Storage Tanks -- Hot Water Supply means those heated by steam or any other 1.3.42Underwriters' Laboratories means a nonprofit, independent organization testing
