Mo. Rev. Stat. § 506.300
Continuance to be granted, when
Effective Aug 28, 1941(L. 1941 p. 435 § 12)
The court in which such action is pending shall grant such continuance to a nonresident defendant as may be proper to afford him reasonable opportunity to defend such action.
