1. 1. The department is authorized to establish a program to improve the quality of emergency care for pediatric patients throughout the state and to implement a comprehensive pediatric emergency medical services system in accordance with standards prescribed by sections 190.001 to 190.245 and rules adopted by the department pursuant to sections 190.001 to 190.245.
2. 2. The department is authorized to receive contributions, grants, donations or funds from any private entity to be expended for the program authorized pursuant to this section.
