PURPOSE: This rule defines technical terms used in Chapter 62.

1. (1) Positional accuracy of a station—The uncertainty in the position of the station relative to the stations that are held fixed (i.e., National Geodetic Survey (NGS) or other higher order stations) in the process of the adjustment. Positional accuracy of a station is computed from the constrained, correctly weighted, least squares adjustment at the ninety-five percent (95%) confidence level.
2. (2) Relative accuracy—The uncertainty in the position of one (1) station relative to another station. It is computed for all directly connected stations from the minimally constrained and the constrained correctly weighted, least squares adjustment at the ninety-five percent (95%) confidence level.
3. (3) Rural area—For purposes of this chapter, a rural area is any second, third, or fourth class county according to section 48.020, RSMo.
4. (4) Urban area—For purposes of this chapter, an urban area is any first class county according to section 48.020, RSMo.
