PURPOSE: This rule sets a time limit for filing a continuation statement. (1) The filing office may refuse to file a continuation statement that is not filed within the time period provided by section 400.9-516, RSMo, for the proper filing of a continuation statement.

1. (2) The first day on which a continuation may be filed is the date of the month corresponding to the date six (6) months preceding the month in which the financing statement would lapse. If there is no such corresponding day, the first day on which a continuation may be filed is the last day of the sixth month preceding the month in which the financing statement would lapse.
2. (3) The last day on which a continuation may be filed is the date upon which the financing statement lapses.
