Me. Rev. Stat. tit. 33, § 770 (2025)
Assignment of mortgage; words of transfer
PL 1967, c. 377 (NEW).
In an assignment of a mortgage of real estate the word "assign" shall be a sufficient word to transfer the mortgage, without the words "sell, transfer and convey."
