The Department of Education shall maintain a school library media section in cooperation with the Maine State Library that must carry on the following activities:

5. 5. School approval Assisting the Commissioner of Education with basic school approvals as it pertains to library instruction;

7. 7. School library staff Providing leadership in staff development and continuing education of school library staff;
