A school board may discharge a superintendent before the expiration of the contract term.

1. 1. Requirements The superintendent may be discharged only:

   1. A. For cause;

   3. C. By a majority vote of the full membership of the school board.

2. 2. Salary On discharge, the superintendent's salary shall cease.

3. 3. Appeal The superintendent may appeal the school board's decision to the commissioner. The commissioner shall hold a hearing as part of the appeal.
