1. Violation of chapter or rules; general penalty Except as otherwise specifically provided, a person, firm, association or corporation that violates a provision of this chapter or a rule of the Gambling Control Unit prescribed by authority of this chapter commits a civil violation for which a fine of not more than $1,000 may be adjudged.

2. Commercial beano hall violations A person, corporation, partnership or unincorporated association that rents or leases a building or facilities to hold, conduct or operate "beano" or "bingo" commits a Class E crime if that person, corporation, partnership or unincorporated association: Violation of this subsection is a strict liability crime as defined in Title 17‑A, section 34, subsection 4‑A.
A. Rents or leases a building or facilities to hold, conduct or operate a "beano" or "bingo" game without a commercial beano hall permit issued by the Gambling Control Unit; or

B. Violates a provision of this chapter or a rule adopted by the Gambling Control Unit pursuant to this chapter.

Violation of this subsection is a strict liability crime as defined in Title 17‑A, section 34, subsection 4‑A.
