Chapter 36: LICENSE FEE AND RENEWAL

1. §1. An applicant for a fantasy contest operator license shall submit a one-time application fee of $5,000.00 for the business entity and $2,500.00 for each partner, officer, director or shareholder. If the application fee exceeds the actual cost of processing the application and performing all background investigations, the excess amount shall be applied to the license fee, if the applicant is issued a license, or reimbursed to an applicant not subject to a license fee in accordance with 8 M.R.S. § 1103(6) or to an applicant that was not issued a license.

   §2. The initial and renewal fees for a license for a fantasy contest operator shall be in accordance with 8 M.R.S. § 1103(6).

   §3. Licenses must be renewed annually, and the renewal fee must be included with the renewal application.

   §4. Any person seeking to renew its application to be a licensed fantasy contest operator shall submit a renewal application, in a form available from the director, no later than 60 days prior to the expiration of the prior year’s license.
