1. A. In this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated.

2. B. Terms Defined.

   1. (1) “Actuarial consultant” means a consultant retained by the Commissioner subject to applicable procurement requirements to examine a rate filing.
   2. (2) “Advisory organization” has the meaning stated in Insurance Article, §11-101, Annotated Code of Maryland.
   3. (3) “Carrier” means an authorized insurer, nonprofit health service plan, or health maintenance organization.
   4. (4) “Commissioner” means the Maryland Insurance Commissioner.
   5. (5) “Rating organization” has the meaning stated in Insurance Article, §11-101, Annotated Code of Maryland.
