1. A. Each ALS education program shall teach the appropriate ALS curriculum.

2. B. Each ALS education program shall provide:

   1. (1) Didactic instruction which imparts fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitudes which contribute to the delivery of state-of-the-art prehospital emergency medical care, including:

      1. (a) Assessment of signs and symptoms;
      2. (b) Performance of therapeutic interventions; and
      3. (c) Evaluation of response to interventions;
   2. (2) Supervised clinical experience which includes practice of skills within clinical education facilities; and
   3. (3) Supervised field internship which includes practice of skills while functioning in a prehospital ALS environment.

3. C. Distance Education. Training programs may utilize distance education for cognitive components of initial training leading to EMS licensure if the program:

   1. (1) Demonstrates the methods of distance education utilized are educationally and technically appropriate for the content and audience; and

   2. (2) Ensures the quality of the distance education method including:

      1. (a) Learning and teaching considerations;
      2. (b) Communication;
      3. (c) Educational and technology design; and
      4. (d) Program and system management.
