Md. Code Regs. 26.01.02.16
On request of any party or on the hearing examiner's own initiative, the proceeding may be continued by the hearing examiner as justice may require. Requests for postponement shall be confirmed in writing, and the written request shall set forth the reason for the request and shall list at least three dates within the 45-day period following the day originally scheduled on which the party and counsel would be available for a hearing, unless the parties agree to schedule beyond the 45-day period. Whenever feasible, a postponed hearing will be rescheduled within the 45-day period.
