The classifications for public schools under these standards are as follows:

1. A. Elementary School, which houses pre-kindergarten through grade 5 or any subset thereof;
2. B. Middle School, which houses grade 6 through grade 8;
3. C. High School, which houses grade 9 through grade 12;
4. D. Combination School, which houses a combination of any grade levels; and

5. E. Other School, which includes but is not limited to the following:

   1. (1) Early-childhood-education centers;
   2. (2) Special-education centers;
   3. (3) Career-technology centers; and
   4. (4) Alternative-education schools.
