1. A. The institution shift commander or designee shall immediately notify the following officials when an inmate is seriously ill or injured:

   1. (1) Commissioner or duty officer, as appropriate;
   2. (2) Warden; and
   3. (3) Assistant warden.
2. B. Upon notification of serious illness or injury to an inmate, the warden or designee shall contact an inmate's next of kin and inform them of the inmate's condition.
