1. A. New Program Requirements. The Board shall cooperate with MHEC when approving and reviewing curricula.

2. B. Approval.

   1. (1) Upon review of an application for curriculum approval, the Board may:

      1. (a) Grant approval;
      2. (b) Place the curriculum on provisional approval;
      3. (c) Request revisions of the curriculum to align with the Board’s statute and regulations; or
      4. (d) Deny the application.

   2. (2) Approval:

      1. (a) Is required before the admission of students; and
      2. (b) Requires concurrence of the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

3. C. Provisional Approval. A program seeking accreditation or endorsement may be granted provisional approval to graduate students if the program submits:

   1. (1) Proof of application status for accreditation or endorsement;
   2. (2) An application for provisional curriculum approval; and
   3. (3) Otherwise meets the requirements of this regulation.
4. D. A program may not operate under provisional status for longer than 2 years.
