1. A. A licensee shall establish and follow written procedures for verifying the background and education of forensic laboratory employees.

2. B. A licensee shall verify the background and education of an individual by a:

   1. (1) Background investigation;

   2. (2) Review of the individual’s grade transcript from the college or university that the individual attended, that is:

      1. (a) The original record or transcript document; or
      2. (b) An official certified copy of the transcript;
   3. (3) Test for abuse of controlled dangerous substances; and
   4. (4) Polygraph examination, if available.
