To qualify for a volunteer dental hygienist's license, a dental hygienist who has passed a regional board as defined in Health Occupations Article, §4-306(a)(3), Annotated Code of Maryland, shall:
- A. Be of good moral character;
B. Be a graduate of a school for dental hygienists that:
- (1) Requires at least 2 years of education in an institution of higher education;
- (2) Is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation; and
- (3) Is approved by the Board;
- C. Pass the Maryland Jurisprudence Examination on the Maryland State Dental Law;
- D. Hold an active license to practice dental hygiene in another state or in the District of Columbia;
- E. Meet the qualifications otherwise required for a general license to practice dental hygiene by Health Occupations Article, Title 4, Annotated Code of Maryland;
- F. Complete the continuing education requirements for an active general license to practice dental hygiene; and
- G. Provide dental hygiene services as set forth in Regulation .11 of this chapter.
