1. A. In this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated.

2. B. Terms Defined.

   1. (1) “Health care” means any care treatment, or procedure by a healthcare practitioner:

      1. (a) To diagnose, evaluate, rehabilitate, manage, treat, or maintain the physical or mental condition of a patient; or
      2. (b) That affects the structure or any function of the human body.
   2. (2) “Health care practitioner” means an individual who is licensed or certified under the Health Occupations Article to provide health care in the State.
