1. A. In this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated.

2. B. Terms Defined.

   1. (1) “Act” means Labor and Employment Article, §§11-603 and 11-604, Annotated Code of Maryland, as amended.
   2. (2) “Council” means the Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Council.
   3. (3) “Department” means the Department of Labor.
   4. (4) “Division” means the Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning.
   5. (5) “Grantee” means an employer to whom an award is made under the terms of this chapter.
   6. (6) “Program” means the grant programs for the Public Safety Apprenticeship Program and the Apprenticeship Career Training Pilot Program for Formerly Incarcerated Individuals.
   7. (7) “Public safety agency” has the meaning set forth in Labor and Employment Article, §11-603(a)(4), Annotated Code of Maryland.
   8. (8) “Secretary” means the Secretary of Labor.
