1. A. .Employers may contact the Assistant Secretary for the Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning.

2. B. The Secretary shall:

   1. (1) Monitor layoffs to identify employers who are likely to experience a reduction in operations;
   2. (2) Identify employers likely to experience a reduction in operations; and

   3. (3) Contact all employers in the State who appear to be faced with or planning a permanent reduction in operations. This contact shall be:

      1. (a) ; Considered confidential, commercial, and financial information;
      2. (b) Directed to the chief executive of the business; and

      3. (c) For the purpose of offering:

         1. (i) Planning assistance; and
         2. (ii) Assistance in providing services, if needed.
3. C. If the employer approves, the Maryland Department of Labor may contact other partner organizations to provide whatever assistance and resources are deemed appropriate.
