1. A. Except for a crane which travels on a fixed track, while a crane is traveling it may not be used to hoist an employee.

2. B. When using a crane that travels on a fixed track, an employer may hoist employees on a personnel platform while the crane is traveling, upon implementing the following procedures to safeguard employees:

   1. (1) The boom shall be parallel to the direction of travel;

   2. (2) A complete trial run to test the route of travel:

      1. (a) Shall be performed before employees are allowed to occupy the platform, and
      2. (b) May be performed at the time of the trial lift required by Regulation .08 of this chapter.
