1. A. In this chapter, the following terms have the meanings indicated.

2. B. Terms Defined.

   1. (1) “Department” means the Department of Human Services.
   2. (2) “Governing body” means the county executive, county commissioners, Mayor of Baltimore City, or the county council of Talbot County or Wicomico County.
   3. (3) “Local board” means the local advisory board of the local departments of social services.
   4. (4) “Local department” means the local department of social services in each political subdivision of the State.
   5. (5) “Local director” means the director of the local department of social services.
   6. (6) “Secretary” means the Secretary of Human Services.
