1. (a) A person who holds a permit may not wear, carry, or transport a handgun while the person is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
2. (b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.
