1. (a) The board of directors shall control and supervise each watershed project under this title for:

   1. (1) watershed protection;
   2. (2) flood prevention;
   3. (3) recreation;
   4. (4) soil conservation;
   5. (5) drainage; or
   6. (6) the conservation, development, storage, use, and disposal of water for any beneficial purpose.
2. (b) The board of directors shall keep each watershed project in good repair.
