Md. Code Ann., Ins. § 2-101 – Maryland Insurance Administration

(a)
1. (1) There is a Maryland Insurance Administration.
2. (2) The Administration is an independent unit of the State government.
(b) The head of the Administration is the Maryland Insurance Commissioner.
(c) The Commissioner shall control and supervise the Administration.
