1. (a)

   1. (1) The Committee consists of five members appointed by the Board as follows:

      1. (i) Two shall be licensed naturopathic doctors;
      2. (ii) One shall be a licensed physician;
      3. (iii) One shall be a licensed physician with experience working with naturopathic doctors; and
      4. (iv) One shall be a consumer member.
   2. (2) The Board shall appoint the naturopathic doctor members from a list of names submitted by the Maryland Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
2. (b) Each member of the Committee licensed by the Board must be in good standing with the Board.

3. (c) The consumer member of the Committee:

   1. (1) Must be a member of the general public;

   2. (2) May not be or ever have been:

      1. (i) A licensed naturopathic doctor;
      2. (ii) Any other health care professional; or
      3. (iii) In training to be a naturopathic doctor or other health professional; and

   3. (3) May not:

      1. (i) Participate or ever have participated in a commercial or professional field related to naturopathic medicine;
      2. (ii) Have a household member who participates in a commercial or professional field related to naturopathic medicine;
      3. (iii) Have had within 2 years before appointment a financial interest in a person regulated by the Board; or
      4. (iv) Have had within 2 years before appointment a financial interest in the provision of goods or services to naturopathic doctors or to the field of naturopathic medicine.
4. (d) Each member of the Committee must be a resident of the State.

5. (e)

   1. (1) The term of a member is 3 years.
   2. (2) The terms of members are staggered as required by regulation.
   3. (3) At the end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed and qualifies.
   4. (4) A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and qualifies.
   5. (5) A member may not serve more than two consecutive full terms.
6. (f) From among its members, the Committee shall elect a chair every 2 years.
7. (g) A quorum of the Committee consists of three members.
