Health officers; compensation

(a) The health officer for a county is entitled to:
- (1) The salary provided in the State budget;
- (2) Reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations,1 as provided in the State budget; and
- (3) Any additional salary that the county provides.
- (b) Except as otherwise provided by law, each health officer is a special appointment in the State Personnel Management System.
