1. (a) The Governor may designate a citizen of the State as its Poet Laureate.

2. (b)

   1. (1) The Poet Laureate:

      1. (i) may not receive compensation as Poet Laureate; but
      2. (ii) subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, is entitled to reimbursement for any expenses incurred in the performance of duties as Poet Laureate.

   2. (2) Reimbursement under this subsection:

      1. (i) shall be paid from the General Emergency Fund of the Board of Public Works; and
      2. (ii) may not exceed $1,000 in any 1 fiscal year.
