1. (a) The Board shall appoint a Director of the Center.

2. (b) The Director shall:

   1. (1) Report directly to the Board;
   2. (2) Recommend the appointment by the Board of employees necessary for the efficient administration of the Center;
   3. (3) Recommend the discharge of employees for good cause and in accordance with applicable laws and policies;
   4. (4) Be responsible to the Board for the conduct of the Center and for its administration and supervision;
   5. (5) Attend all meetings of the Board, except those involving the Director's personal position;

   6. (6) Subject to the policies and guidelines of the Commission:

      1. (i) Develop a mission statement;
      2. (ii) Submit the mission statement to the Board of Governors of the Center; and
      3. (iii) Upon the direction of the Board of Governors, update the mission statement every 4 years; and
   7. (7) Perform other duties as assigned by the Board.

<This section is repealed effective upon occurrence of contingency specified in Acts 2018, c. 402, § 2.>
