1. (a) This section applies to a person possessing an identification badge or identification card required for employment or visitation that is issued by:

   1. (1) a unit of the State or a county, municipal corporation, special taxing district, or public corporation of the State; or

   2. (2) a person that owns or operates in the State:

      1. (i) a factory or warehouse or a manufacturing, printing, publishing, mechanical, or mercantile establishment or a plant of any kind;
      2. (ii) a mine or quarry;
      3. (iii) a railway; or
      4. (iv) a water, sewage, gas, electric, transmission, heating, refrigerating, telephone, or other publicly owned or public service company.
2. (b) A person shall surrender each identification badge or identification card to its issuer when the person's employment or authorized visit ends.
3. (c) A person may not knowingly possess an identification badge or identification card after the person's employment or authorized visit ends.
4. (d) A person who willfully violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or a fine not exceeding $500 or both.
