1. (a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

2. (b) “Licensed health care professional” means a duly licensed or certified:

   1. (1) physician;
   2. (2) surgeon;
   3. (3) podiatrist;
   4. (4) osteopath;
   5. (5) osteopathic physician;
   6. (6) osteopathic surgeon;
   7. (7) physician assistant;
   8. (8) registered nurse;
   9. (9) licensed practical nurse;
   10. (10) nurse practitioner;
   11. (11) dentist;
   12. (12) pharmacist; or
   13. (13) emergency medical services provider, in accordance with § 13-516 of the Education Article.
3. (c) “Suicide” means the act or instance in which an individual intentionally takes the individual's own life.
