1. (a) Subject to subsection (b) of this section, the managing official of a local correctional facility may designate correctional officers employed by the local correctional facility to have the power to make arrests as authorized by § 2-207(d) of the Criminal Procedure Article.
2. (b) Correctional officers designated by a managing official to make arrests as authorized under § 2-207(d) of the Criminal Procedure Article shall meet the minimum qualifications and satisfactorily complete the training required by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.
