1. (a)

   1. (1) The chair of the Board shall receive a salary of $4,000 annually.
   2. (2) Each other member of the Board shall receive a salary of $3,500 annually.
   3. (3) The County Commissioners shall pay the salaries of the members of the Board.

   4. (4) The County Commissioners may pay for expenses of the Board, including:

      1. (i) salaries of personnel other than members of the Board; and
      2. (ii) costs of printing, supplies, and other expenses related to the operation of the Board.

2. (b) The Board may:

   1. (1) employ:

      1. (i) a secretary;
      2. (ii) inspectors; and
      3. (iii) clerical and other assistants as are necessary; and
   2. (2) except as otherwise provided in this section, set the compensation of the employees.

3. (c) The Board:

   1. (1) shall appoint a clerk to the Board at a salary of $4,000 annually; and
   2. (2) may designate an attorney for the Board at a salary of $4,500 annually.
